Alright, i'll admit it, i'm addicted. My love finally managed to talk me into picking up the ole' pokeball again, and now i'm stuck on it. I even managed to scrap together enough money to buy a Nintendo DS, and a friend of mine is going to give me his old diamond version, and i can't wait!
Now, being the total failure of a roleplaying nerd that i am, the first question that went through my mind is "Is their a pokemon roleplaying game?" Well, i haven't found it yet but if you know of one i'll look it over and review it on the site.
My second thought was "Is their a relatively simple way to put pokemon into some of my favorite systems?"
Well, i'm still working on that, but i think that at least with 4e D&D, the best way would be to create a beast master ranger. Unfortunately, this leaves you with one single pokemon, but hey, it's strong and it works.
Another thought is that you could use summoning techniques such as with the arcane spells, but these are generally only usable once per day, and the best way would be to have an encounter power version.
Finally, i figure that one could just make their own class of it. It'd be difficult, but it'd be fun... but before i do that, i gotta finish up the Eros series of classes i'm making. For those of you who know me, yes, Cypher (One of my favorite characters who i made a custom class for) and the gang are going to hit 4e sooner or later!
For those of you who'd have any mild interest in it, here is the 3.5 edition version of the Ero mage!
The Ero Mage
the woman runs down the alley her sandals clicking against the slick cobblestones.
"Come on little missy we're going to have some fun!"
The three men behind her slowly gaining, she just can't seem to run fast enough. Suddenly her sandals slide on the pavement and she falls tumbling To the ground. She tries to get up and finds a boot placed into her back.
"Now why'd you go and run? Now me and the boys are all stressed out, guess we'll have to take it out on you!"
The man reaches down to grab her shirt when a voice rings out from the alley.
"Try to touch that girl and you'll regret it."
The man looks up to see a cloaked man with a dagger at his side.
"What are you going to do about it? I'm a trained fighter! I can hack you to pieces with this!"
He draws from his side a huge sword.
"Now beat it before me and the boys beat you!"
The cloaked man shakes his head.
"I'm terribly sorry but I can't do that. Now, I suggest you will let the woman go before things get nasty."
"Things have already gotten nasty little punk, time to die!" The man jumps up and leaps at the robed man his sword swinging down. The cloaked man steps aside easily dodging the sword.
"Well, I guess this is unavoidable than."
He waves his hands and the man drops like a stone to the cobblestones, groaning in pain and holding his crotch.
"What the hell did you do to me!"
The cloaked man smiles and bends down.
"Well, since you don't seem to have the maturity to use one of those I just removed it.”
The other two men are startled, but they draw their own swords and run at the cloaked man. He looks up at the oncoming attackers, waves his hands and mutters a word, and both men trip and fall as they find their clothes about their ankles, their swords dropping from their hands. As they struggle to get back up to the cloaked man walks up to them and taps them on the head. Suddenly, instead of two men standing before the woman, there are two rather ugly looking women. The men stared at him in confusion as they see their new body parts. The cloaked man winks at them and makes a shooing motion with his hand.
"now if you hurry along and get home you ladies might just get back before the guards show up and “ escort” you to their barracks for the night. Naked women running about the streets are good commodity after all! Or, I could just get bored and cast a little black tentacles spell!”
The men run screaming into the night. The man walks over the woman and holds out hand. "Cypher Richards, Ero Mage at your service. May I walk you home?”
Ero mages draw their power from the primal forces of passion, lust, and love. Ero mages are not feared for their ability to blow things up, nor for any strange power of life over death. Instead people fear them for that target the one thing that most people leave completely unguarded. Their sex and lust. Ero mages can drive a prude into dropping all their clothes, or convince a ***** to give up sex. Even in battle, and Ero mage flits about the field driving men to drop their swords in passionate lust for imagined illusions or even transforming their sex and driving them to another soldier. No one ever really sees an Ero mage coming, but they almost always wished they had and run. There is however a softer side to Ero mages. They are the greatest lovers and are often sought out by anyone who wants a better experience. Nobles have been known to request Ero Mages to join them and their partners to enhance the experience. Some rumors say that even Succubus’s try to hunt down Ero Mages for the chance to bed them. If your having trouble in bed, An Ero Mage can fix it.
Adventures
Ero mages sometimes a difficult time in parties because they're unusual powers often creates awkward situations. However the power against other creatures cannot be denied, and an Ero mage the perfect thing to have around after being in the wild for months. Ero mages often serve as the party face much like sorcerers to because there power lies and their personality. They're unusual powers all also help sway other people to their way of thinking. Of course... it really depends on the society in which the Ero mages in that determines whether or not their powers are seen as a boon or a curse. In a sexually restrictive society or a mages are hounded and mistreated, often causing the Ero mage to leave the society in hopes of a better life. In an open society however, Ero mages are quite content and often revered. And Ero mage from an open society may be adventuring to find someone special, or maybe just see new sites and "meet" new people.
Characteristics.
A Ero mage power comes from the fact that people never see I coming. There is really no way to prepare against an Ero Mage, and there moves generally incapacitate in one or two hits. Even if they don’t the things they do are generally enough to send a man running. They also are great at working with people, using their amazing charisma peppered with some personality enhancing spells.
Alignment
Ero mages can be of any alignment, but lean towards chaotic. Good Ero mages are more concerned about spreading the goodness of pleasure, and helping relationships. Evil Ero mages are concerned about their pleasure, and there pleasure only, and never hesitate to use there spells to tip the scales for them, and blackmail is a common practice.
Religion.
Ero mages can follow any non sexually restrictive religion they want, though they are most often followers of fertility and pleasure gods, and more often than not follow Skydin(Or Lastai if your using BOXD) , the Goddess of passion, lust, perversion, sex, and love.
Races
Ero mages may be of any race, though ones that are sexually restrictive like dwarves are not often meet with open arms.

Abilites.
Spellcasting- A Ero Mage casts his spells spontaneously, but May only cast spells that can be used in a sexual Method, or pertains in some way to sex. However, the powers of passion have certain restrictions. They cannot use this power to create any affect that will do direct physical damage, (Such as HP) or kill a person directly, (Such as inst-kill affects, like flesh to stone, or power word kill.)
The Ero mages spellcasting is Charisma based, and is treated as arcane spell casting in terms of Prestige classes and Spell Pen, even though it is not actually arcane based.
Amazing lover- A Ero Mage gains their class levels as a inherent bonus to the skill Preform: Sex. Ero mages tap into the primal powers around them, and make simply amazing lovers.
Detect Sex- A Ero Mage can tell if a act of intercourse is going on anywhere within 60 ft. Concentrating allows them to pinpoint the postion, whether or not both parties are willing, and finally, whether or not both the parties are satisfied with the among of pleasure there getting.
Lover's Metamagic (Ex) - Ero Mages are a unique breed of mages unto their own as they can tap into their own primal urges and channel them to increase the power of their spells. Upon reaching 3rd level, when casting a spell, the Ero Mage may choose to activate one of their specific Lover's Metamagic and ignore the spell level increase of one of the metamagic feats applied to that spell. A Ero Mage may only use 1 Lover's Metamagic at a time.
The Ero Mage may use ability a number of times per day equal to her Charisma modifier plus 1 (minimum of 1). If the Ero Mage is engaged in the act of sex upon use of this ability, that use does not count toward the maximum number of times per day this ability can normally be used.
Silent Lover- A Ero mage can cast any spell as if Silenced without increasing it’s spell level.
Still Lover- A Ero Mage can Cast any spell as if Stilled without Increasing it’s spell level.
Enlarged Lover- An Ero Mage can Cast a spell as if Enlarged
Extended Lover- An Erom Mage can Cast a spell as if Extended
Heightened Lover- A Ero mage can heighten a spell by up to 2 levels higher without using a spell slot higher to cast it.
Empowered Lover- A Ero mage can cast a spell as if Empowered without increasing it’s spell level.
Maximum Lover- A Ero Mage can Cast a spell as if it was Maximized
Quick Lover- A Ero Mage may Cast a spell as if quickened
Rejuvinate- For a Ero Mage, Sex is as invigorating as a good night’s sleep. Any time spent in sex is counted as double for how long a Ero mage needs to sleep to regain his spells. For example, If a Ero Mage spends 2 hours having sex, (And must make relevant checks…) It’s as if he’s had four hours of sleep, and only needs 4 more to regain his spells. If he spends 4 hours, then he does not need sleep at all for that day. For elves, this counts towards time needed in trance.
Lover’s Focus- A Ero Mage gains the feat Skill Focus: Perform Sex
Lover’s Boost, Stage one- An Ero mage gains a Inherent +2 to Charisma and Constitution
Lover’s Boost, Stage two- An Ero Mage Gains an Inherent +4 to Charisma and Constitution, this supersedes Lover’s boost Stage one.
Perverted Warp- Casting a spell against a Ero mage is… Dangerous. When a spell is cast against a Ero Mage, he may give up a spell level higher than the one cast as if he where counter spelling the spell. The spell energy then rebounds upon the caster as if it had been effected by Spell turning. If it cannot be turned, it is merely counterspelled. However, such direct manipulation by the Ero mage has unusual effects on Magic, and transforms the spell into a Ero mage spell of the same Level, which is then cast on the original caster. This effect must be focused on the caster, so it cannot be a AOE spell (If it can't be reflected, it can't be cast in this usage)
Perfect Lover- An Ero Mage is truly a force of Sexual Magical energy incarnate. Where as before, they could only channel one Lover Metamagic at a time, The Ero Mage may now use as many as they want on the same spell. They must still use up points for the day for each metamagic used, and they may not apply the same Lover's Metamagic more than once.
Hope you enjoy it! And PS, anyone know HTML code so i can straighten this thing out so it looks decent?

What's in a Name?
Alright, so let's start with something i often get asked about. Matthais777? What's that about?
Believe it or not, this name is almost as close to me as my real one. I came up with it years ago when i joined the Wizards of the Coast boards, mostly to post on the mature forums, since at the time their was a online 3.5 role play going on. So here is the basics, Matthias was the guy in the bible who was the thirteenth disciple. "But wait Matt!" you might say, "There where only 12 Disciples!" how right you are little budding bible scholar! However, after Judas offed himself, the Disciples got together and decided that leaving it at 11 just wouldn't do, so they voted in this guy Matthias, who was young and eager. But they didn't vote exactly. The title came down to Matthias and some other guy named Justus, so they Cast Lots (Yay divine dice tie in) and Matthias won, so it's sort of a luck thing to. I mean, when these guys weren't sure who should be given the divine job of spreading the word and getting called a disciple, they trusted in the dice/bones to show them what was up. Pretty good for a Table Top player like me, eh? I dunno, sometimes my mind goes strange places.
Why is it misspelled? Because as a kid i didn't know any better, and thought that was how it was spelled! However, since then the name has grown on me and i rarely use it in the proper format.
Next, 777. Le huh? Simple buddies. 7 is the divine number. 6 is humanity. 666 is the number of the devil/antichrist. Therefore, at least in my head, 777 is the second coming. Or it just means i'm holier than thou. Who knows? Again, my mind is strange, but let's face it, you ALWAYS need extra numbers when registering things, and 666 didn't seem to fit, and i didn't want my age since that changed, and i can never remember random numbers, so 777 it became.
Now, you may be wondering, and quite rightly, what in the world this has to do with Table Top gaming? I'll tell you what. The ever maddening topic of trying to finally decide on a name for a character. Some people take a rather haphazard approach to naming, with such things as "Bob" or "Sue", some spout something appropriately setting random. "Exlandora!" Or "Zantarotuso!" Yeah, i got no clue what those mean, but they sound cool don't they? It seems to almost be a rule with strange fantasy names that the more flips and hurdles your tongue has to do to say them, the cooler it is. Check out this Fantasy naming Generator and you'll get a feel for what i mean! (First rule of fantasy names, the more Zs and Xs and apostrophes you can throw in, the cooler they sound! ((Please oh god don't take that seriously... Your DM will hunt me down in the night and slay me.)))
Then, their are guys like me. I feel that every new character i make is my own little brain child, and should be treated as such. When i begin to look for a name, i treat it like i would if i where naming my firstborn child. Except this is one unruly child who i can actually guarantee will live up to their name.
I check the Internets for the base of names. I go to Latin translators (Latin is my favorite, but other languages do, again depending on the setting. Here is a fun free online one!) and type in the basis. When that fails me, i go for something that SOUNDS cool, but has meaning to it as well. For example, Suki, my bard who could blow things up with her voice. Her name sounds cool, but in my head was a corruption of the word "Song" to sound mildly eastern. My paladin Bromden, my first ever really thought out and serious character's name's original meaning has since been forgotten, but i forever will remember how the syllables seemed to represent what kinda guy i wanted him to be. Brom-Den. It sounds harsh, but it's more like a heavy drum type of sound then a screaming noise. After trying it out on This Baby name Search Engine I think i might have made it as a corruption of the name Brendon, which means prince. It fit him, that good old paladin who rode Pumba the warthog (Hey, i said i thought out my character's names, said nothing about their familiars/companions!).
But whatever path you choose, the key to it all is this. Ya gotta pick a name you'll never regret, and that the goblins/Kobolds won't be chanting obscene versus about.
Sincerely
Matthais777
